About Us

Aikido Northway is a traditional Japanese martial arts dojo dedicated to cultivating strength, balance, and presence through mindful movement. Founded by fifth-degree black belt and longtime Japan resident Tim Cooper Sensei, our Clifton Park dojo offers adults a welcoming place to train, relieve stress, and build confidence through the art of Aikido—often called “the way of harmony.”

Classes emphasize relaxation under pressure, centered posture, and cooperative practice rather than competition. Students learn practical techniques to neutralize force safely, improve mobility, and develop focus that carries into daily life. Whether you’re seeking fitness, personal growth, or a meaningful community, Aikido Northway provides an inclusive path toward strength without aggression.

Intro classes are open to beginners. Join us and discover how Aikido transforms both body and mind.
