JOB TITLE: Logistics Planner

SUPERVISION: Reports to Logistics Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Logistics Planner is responsible for coordinating domestic freight operations to ensure reliable, on-time delivery that meets or exceeds customer and internal expectations. By working closely with carrier and warehousing partners, this role focuses on delivering a seamless logistics experience while optimizing cost and service quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and schedule domestic shipments to ensure on-time, in full deliveries that exceed customer and internal expectations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, 3PL warehouses, and internal partners to ensure a seamless logistics experience for customers
- Work with carrier partners to track and trace all daily orders, creating quick resolutions for any delivery issues or delays
- Serve as a key liaison between carrier partners and internal teams to provide clear communication and proactive updates on shipment statuses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams; including operations, customer service, and procurement, to ensure shipments arrive on required dates using the most cost-efficient method
- Track and analyze logistics metrics and KPIs, such as on-time delivery and freight spending
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transportation laws, regulations, and industry best practices
- Support continuous improvement in initiatives to streamline processes and enhance overall logistics performance
- Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards
- Create and process shipping documentation, including packing lists, bills of lading, and pallet labels as necessary
- 2+ years of experience within the transportation field
- Associate’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or related field preferred
- Proficiency within ERP and transportation management systems, experience with NetSuite is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of domestic transportation modes (LTL, FTL, and intermodal)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively
- Must have the ability to work with minimum supervision
- Must be able to work effectively across multiple departments
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
